Daud Subhani

Daud Subhani (October 24, 1933 - June 3, 1992) was a distinguished Pakistani journalist and photojournalist whose career spanned several decades, marked by his significant contributions to local and international media. Working primarily out of Karachi, Pakistan, he was known for associating with the English language daily, The Sun, where he captured the nation's pulse through his insightful photography and reporting.

His dedication to his craft and bravery were further exemplified during the 1971 conflict when he became a Prisoner of War. Here is a short video on the day of his release from the POW camp. He is with his wife, Nuzhat Subhani, and his children, Fauzia and Tariq Subhani. This period of his life underscored the risks he took to report the truth, a testament to his commitment to journalism.

While I photographed he filmed Punjab and Sindh from Sialkot to Thatta, travelling in a range rover provided by UNICEF and driven by Sindhi landlord Sanjrani because of his driving skill and knowledge of geography.
